Wildlife Habitat Evaluation Program (WHEP) Workshop Scheduled

WE’RE SORRY TO INFORM YOU, BUT THIS WORKSHOP HAS BEEN CANCELED. 3-22-2011

Are you interested in wildlife?   Natural resources?   Texas 4-H has a interactive contest for you!  It’s called WHEP…or the Wildlife Habitat Evaluation Program!

The Texas 4-H Wildlife Habitat Evaluation Program(WHEP) is an interactive program that teaches youth about wildlife, habitat, habitat management, and natural resources stewardship. In addition, life skills such as team work, critical thinking, public speaking, and observation are underlying objectives in this youth development effort. Creating educated and involved stewards of natural resources is the long term goal. Team member trainings are offered throughout the state during the calendar year. 4-H groups meet and study in their local areas.

Coryell County is hosting a workshop and has extended an invitation to other counties to come learn about WHEP.  Check out the flyer.  The workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, March 23, 2011 in Gatesville  from 5-7pm at the Coryell County Extension Office located at 303 Veteran Memorial Loop.  The workshop will be conducted by Larry Hysmith, Extension Associate – Texas Cooperative Wildlife Collection.  Please RSVP by Monday, March 21 to Coryell County at 254-865-2414 and or contact their office for any questions.  It should be fun, so encourage your 4-H members to attend!
